About the Film

Escaping Darkness is a film written by award winning writer Paul Allen. It is co-directed by award winning directors Angela Grimm and Caitlin Skinner.

Escaping Darkness is a sequel and soft retcon of the award winning short film “Finding Light in the Darkness”, which tells the story of Allen as he opens up to his new therapist, Whitney.

In Escaping Darkness, Allen is renamed to Logan. Reprising the role will be Paul Allen. Holly Anspaugh will also reprise her role of Whitney, while Mia Katz, Alicia McClendon, Dashawn Kelley, Leonard Peterson III, Rain Aspen, and Grace Welsh join the cast.

Escaping Darkness is under the SAG micro-budget agreement and has been selected for fiscal funding by From The Heart Productions. Escaping Darkness is set to be filmed between February and March of 2025.
